Trust loose ring snaffle brass rings

€70.25

Trust loose ring snaffle brass rings. The Trust Blue Sweet Iron mouthpiece from the Trust brand has a centre piece with brass rings. This creates tongue pressure if the horse becomes strong and also gives the horse something to play with, which encourages a soft contact and helps to keep the horse's attention on the bit.

The blue sweet iron mouthpiece encourages salivation, softening and acceptance of the bit because it oxidises easily, creating a warm, sweet taste in the horse's mouth. The double joint means the mouthpiece follows the contours of the horse's mouth, which reduces the 'nutcracker' action associated with single jointed bits, and resultant bar and palate pressure.

All Trust bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it:

  • oxidises easily
  • encourages salivation
  • helps bit acceptance
  • is warm and sweet Please note the blue will fade with use.

How to measure your bit

The current bit size is often used to order a new bit. We will explain how to measure this below.

  • Measure the bit between the rings.
  • Bits from the brands that we sell have exactly the size that you measure between the bit rings. Do you have a bit from another brand? Measure this between the rings and if this is for example 12.5, you also order the new bit in that size.

Note that bits with longer shanks such as hackamore combi bits need more space so that they do not damage your horse.
