Trust sweet iron 2.5 loose ring jointed

Trust sweet iron 2.5 loose ring jointed

Trust sweet iron 2.5 loose ring jointed. The Trust Blue Sweet Iron mouthpiece from the Trust brand has a jointed mouthpiece

The blue sweet iron mouthpiece encourages salivation, softening and acceptance of the bit because it oxidises easily, creating a warm, sweet taste in the horse's mouth. The double joint means the mouthpiece follows the contours of the horse's mouth, which reduces the 'nutcracker' action associated with single jointed bits, and resultant bar and palate pressure.

Mouthpiece: sweet iron 16 mm

Sizes: 11,5 | 12,5 | 13,5 14,5

Trust bits are made from blue sweet iron, because it:

  • oxidises easily
  • encourages salivation
  • helps bit acceptance
  • is warm and sweet

Sweet iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity; the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more which in turn encourages better acceptance of the bit. The rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue colour of the TRUST-bit to a brownish-grey. If a sweet iron bit is not used for a while, an orange-brown rust layer may develop on the mouthpiece. Simply remove this by wiping the bit with a damp cloth.
