TRUST equestrian Sweet Iron Jointed Eggbut Small rings

The eggbut is a standard cheekpiece. The rings cannot move separately from each other, so the riders aid is conveyed directly and the bit lies stable in the horse’s mouth. In addition, this cheekpiec doesn’t pinch the corners of the horse’s mouth so bit rings are not necessary. Small rings have a more direct effect than larger rings. The smaller the rings, the more pressure is transferred to a smaller surface.

A jointed bit has one hinge point, which means less pressure on the tongue than with a eliptical mouthpiece. A jointed mouthpiece exerts pressure mainly on the layers, the side of the tongue and can also have an effect on the palate. A jointed mouthpiece is seen as a standard mouthpiece.

The Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognizable blue color. Sweet Iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity, the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more, which in turn will encourage a better acceptance of the bit.

The bits of TRUST equestrian are ultra-Dutch. All bits are designed, developed and handmade in the Netherlands. Every day a team of technical professionals works on the production of the TRUST bits. The balance between shape, material and weight is constantly taken into account. TRUST bits are slightly curved so that they are better shaped towards the horse’s mouth. Because of this anatomical shape, the bit lies better in the mouth and the pressure is better distributed. The TRUST bits are available in 3 materials, 20 mouthpieces and 31 cheekpieces.
