Trust curb gag leather

€144.62

Trust curb gag leather. The curb gag from Trust Equestrian has a sliding rope action on the cheekpieces, which applies pressure to the horse’s curb groove via a leather pad, rather than the strong poll pressure applied with a conventional gag bit. There is still a small amount of poll pressure, as the upper ring acts in a similar way to a hanging cheek snaffle.

The core of the bit is made of reinforced nylon. The leather that is stitched around this core, is naturally tanned without chemicals. The saliva production softens the leather bit and makes it more pleasant for the horse. The flexible mechanism in combination with the taste of the leather, makes the bit particularly suitable for horses with a sensitive mouth.

How to measure your bit

The current bit size is often used to order a new bit. We will explain how to measure this below.

  • Measure the bit between the rings.
  • Bits from the brands that we sell have exactly the size that you measure between the bit rings. Do you have a bit from another brand? Measure this between the rings and if this is for example 12.5, you also order the new bit in that size.

Note that bits with longer shanks such as hackamore combi bits need more space so that they do not damage your horse.
